Susan practiced state and federal litigation of appeals and writs for 30 years. Since retiring from the practice of law, she has studied and practiced various methods of alternative dispute resolution in San Francisco, including disputes between family members, tenants, neighbors, coworkers, and homeowner association members as well as disputes among members of the community and between civilians and the police. She specializes in creating customized and flexible mediation approaches applicable to a broad spectrum of disputes, utilizing traditional legal practices (caucusing), innovations drawn from collaborative practice models (using financial or mental health experts), and transformative face-to-face techniques. This flexible approach allows for the alternative dispute resolution process to be tailored to the needs and desires of the parties involved.
