Mediation is a voluntary process in which a trained neutral person, known as a mediator, assists parties in working towards an agreement of a dispute or difference. When enlisting a mediator, the parties themselves remain in control of the decision to settle and the terms of the resolution.
Our mediation practice utilizes techniques found in mainstream legal mediation, community-based dispute resolution, and collaborative practice models. We will propose a clear format to resolve your dispute and often involve the participation of one or two mediators, a financial or tax expert, mental health professional, or elder care consultant. We intend to make this process affordable and will estimate costs and fees based on the complexity of the case.
We also utilize a co-mediator approach in which there are two mediators for your case. This increases the range of perspective for the mediators and parties in helping to resolve disputes. However, we charge only one hourly rate for both mediators. We are also willing to consider a sliding fee scale for parties who may not otherwise be able to afford a mediation.
Contact us to discuss disputes based on probate, real estate disputes, estate, and trust issues, Homeowners Association conflicts, problems arising between neighbors or roommates, landlord/tenant disagreements, or discord among family members regarding elder care and financial arrangements.
